Hello!
We are Bernardo and Crystal, and you probably already guessed that we love the outdoors. We’re based in Central California, just a couple of hours away from several national and state parks. We both have some experience with outdoor recreation as kids, but we didn’t start adventuring together until 2016.
While we were both in college, we often procrastinated by hiking through Yosemite and other local trails. As we wrapped up our graduations in 2019, we dreamed of visiting all national parks in the following years. 2020 of course made that a bit challenging.
However, this gave us the opportunity to deeply immerse ourselves in the beauty of the West Coast. We still dream of visiting all National parks, but we’re in no rush.
More on Bernardo:
The spontaneous one, ready for an adventure on a moment’s notice. He loves trying out the greatest and latest new gear and having extra of everything because “you never know”. The extraverted of the two, he loves to meet and talk with new people about everything and anything!
More on Crystal:
The planner that likes to research and prepare before every trip. She’s more of a minimalist and would rather invest in less gear that can do more. Definitely and outfit repeater. She’s more introverted and will often prefer to be behind the camera.
Why We Created Roaming The Trails
We created this blog to serve as a resource for others. Our friends and family frequently ask us about gear recommendations or tips on how to hike our favorite trails, how to find campsites, and so on. We get so exited sharing our knowledge and experience, we want to make the information accessible to anyone who can benefit from it.
Transparency is important to us, so we want to be upfront with our intentions. Our primary goal for creating this blog is to share information we wished we had when preparing for our outdoor adventures. An underlying goals is to monetize our creative work. We’re not expecting to go viral and be the next big travel influencers. We actually both love our careers in healthcare and don’t plan on leaving them anytime soon! However, if we can get a few dollars here and there to buy more outdoor gear and take more trips together, why not!?
So although you may see some adds or affiliate links in the future, please know that providing helpful content you can trust is at the forefront of Roaming The Trails.
